Step 1: Download & Install Canopy Shield

1. Open canopy.us/install on the Android device.
2. Alternative method: Use the installation link from the Canopy Dashboard or the Canopy parental control app.
3. Tap Install Shield → You will be redirected to the Google Play Store.
4. Press Install to download and install Canopy Shield.

Step 2: Log In & Assign Device

5. Open Canopy Shield and tap I have an account.
6. Log in with your admin email and password.
7. Select the profile of the Shield user for this device.

Step 3: Grant Necessary Permissions

8. Tap Continue with installation and accept the Terms & Conditions.
9. Follow the setup prompts based on your Android version:
   • Android 14: Enable Overlay Access first.
   • Android 13+: Approve Restricted Settings before enabling Accessibility.
   • Older versions: Go directly to Accessibility Settings → Find Canopy Shield → Enable it.
10. Approve Usage Data Access and return to the setup screen.

Step 4: Install the Security Certificate

11. Android 12-14: Tap OKto approve Certificate installation
    
12. Android 15+: Navigate to More Security Settings → Encryption and Credentials → Install a Certificate → CA Certificates.
    
    

Step 5: Enable Uninstall Protection & Complete Setup

12. Enable Uninstall Protection (optional).
13. Approve final permissions → Tap Open App.
    ✅ Setup complete! Canopy Shield is now active and protecting this device.
