Using more than one filtering or parental-control tool at the same time can cause conflicts or prevent Canopy Shield from working properly. Below is a breakdown of what to expect on each device type.
Android Devices
You can technically install other parental-control or filtering apps alongside Canopy Shield.
However, we do not recommend it.
Multiple filtering apps may:
-
Interfere with each other
-
Reduce filtering accuracy
-
Cause performance issues or connectivity problems
If you plan to use Canopy Shield, we strongly suggest removing other parental-control apps first to ensure smooth and reliable protection.
iPhone / iPad (iOS)
iOS devices support only one MDM (Mobile Device Management) profile at a time.
Since Canopy Shield requires an MDM profile for its protection features, you cannot install it if another filtering or parental-control app already has an active MDM profile.
If you want to install and use Canopy Shield, you will need to remove the other MDM profile first.
VPN-Based Filtering Apps
Some filtering or monitoring tools use a VPN connection to provide protection.
Because devices can only run one VPN connection at a time, any VPN-based parental-control app will not work simultaneously with Canopy Shield if Canopy Shield’s protection also requires a VPN configuration on that device.
To avoid conflicts and ensure full functionality, other VPN-based apps should be disabled or removed before activating Canopy Shield.
