How do I manage Sexting Deterrence?
Canopy’s Sexting Deterrence feature detects inappropriate images saved on the device, (taken by the child or received from others) whether taken by the protected device or received from others.
Canopy scans only non-private folders. Private or encrypted folders are not scanned by this feature.
Based on the user's selection, the image can either be sent for parental review or deleted.
Canopy offers two levels of protection, Standard and Enhanced Sexting Deterrence.
Standard detects full nudity in photos, while Enhanced Deterrence detects partial nudity, including swimwear and Lingerie.
To change your Sexting Deterrence protection level, please follow these steps:
- Open the Canopy for management app on your device or log in to the Canopy web dashboard.
- Select the protected device for which you wish to enable the Deterrence. Click Sexting Deterrence.
- Toggle the button on top to enable the feature.
- To change your Sexting Deterrence level select Change to Standard or Change to Strict.
If you wish to completely turn off Sexting Deterrence, you can do so by toggling the switch in the upper right corner of the Sexting Deterrence section from the purple “On” position to the gray “Off” position.
