On iPhone and iPad, Removal Prevention works differently than on other devices.
Because it is enforced at the system level (by Apple), it cannot be turned off with a simple switch in the Dashboard.
Why is this the case?
Removal Prevention on iOS is part of a secure system configuration (often called supervision).
This ensures the protection cannot be easily bypassed.
How to Turn Off Removal Prevention
To disable Removal Prevention, you’ll need to send a removal request directly from the protected device.
Step 1: Start the removal request
On the iPhone or iPad with Canopy Shield installed:
-
Open the app
-
Open the side menu
-
Tap “Remove Canopy”
Step 2: Approve the request
-
A request will be sent to your management account (Dashboard or parent app)
-
The request must be approved before the change takes effect
Step 3: After approval
Once approved:
-
Removal Prevention will be automatically turned off
-
The device will no longer be protected by Removal Prevention
-
You will be able to remove the app from the device
