The Enhanced protection level provides stricter filtering than the default Basic level.
When you assign Enhanced protection to a content category, Canopy will:
🧼 Filter out minimal clothing content from websites
🚫 Block access to sites that primarily focus on such material
🔁 Redirect certain apps to their safer, web-based versions
In the Shopping category, apps like Amazon, AliExpress, and Temu may be redirected to their filtered web versions.
In the Social Media category, apps like Instagram, Facebook, and others may also be redirected.
📱 On Android: The original app is hidden and replaced with a shortcut to a filtered version in your device’s browser.
🍏 On iPhone/iPad: A version of the app with a green ✅ checkmark appears. This version is safely filtered through Safari.
You can choose the Enhanced level for specific categories directly from your dashboard.
Open the Canopy Dashboard or the Canopy app on your device.
Select the device profile you'd like to adjust.
Go to Advanced Settings.
A list of content categories will appear.
Each category is set to Filtered by default. Tap the level next to any category.
Select "Enhanced" from the list of options.
Your settings will save automatically and take effect immediately.
While most apps can be assigned any protection level individually (Unfiltered, Filtered, Enhanced, or Blocked), browsers are treated differently:
Browsers appear in the app list with their protection level shown as “By category.”
You can only change a browser’s protection to Unfiltered or Blocked.
Otherwise, browser apps will automatically follow the protection level of the Web Browsing category.
This ensures consistent and effective filtering across all browsing activity.
