Canopy now offers enhanced app identification on iOS for all protected device. The feature is enabled to all filtered iOS devices, not depending on Removal Preventions that are used to supervise the device.
This allows Canopy to accurately identify and filter each app’s internet traffic, ensuring optimal protection without unnecessary blocking or interference.
Why Manage an App?
When you allow Canopy to manage an app, you give it permission to monitor and filter the app’s internet traffic directly. This helps:
✔ Ensure apps function properly without overblocking.
✔ Apply the appropriate protection level to each app.
How to Manage an App
- Open the Canopy app for management or log in to the Canopy dashboard.
- Select the protected device profile you want to manage.
- Navigate to the App List and choose the app you want to manage.
- Set the desired protection level for the app.
- A pop-up message will appear on the preotected device, asking for approval to allow Canopy to manage the selected app.
Approving the App Management Request
When you select an app for management, you will receive a notification:
1. Review the request
A system notification will inform you that Netspark wants to manage the selected app.
2. Approve the request
Tap OK to grant permission for Canopy to manage the app’s internet traffic.
Once approved, Canopy Shield will filter the app according to your selected protection level.
Important Notes
- Each app that requires management will send its own notification requesting permission.
- If your device is supervised (Installed with Removal Prevention), Canopy already has permission to manage all apps on the device. In this case, no additional approvals are needed.
