How to Uninstall Canopy Shield for Mac or Windows
Canopy Shield includes a Removal Prevention feature for Mac and Windows devices, which prevents anyone from removing or disabling Canopy Shield without your approval. If this feature is active on your computer, you will need to turn it off before uninstalling Canopy Shield.
Please note: If your Canopy account includes an Accountability Partner, you cannot remove Canopy Shield from your computer without their approval.

Follow these steps to uninstall Canopy Shield from your Mac or Windows device:
Step 1: Access the Canopy Menu
- On your protected computer, locate the green Canopy icon in the menu bar (top-right corner of the screen).
- Click the icon to open the drop-down menu.
Step 2: Start the Uninstall Process
- In the menu, select Uninstall.
- A pop-up window will appear asking for permission to remove Canopy Shield.
- Click Send Request to proceed.
Step 3: Approve the Uninstall Request
Open the Canopy app on your mobile device or log in to the Canopy web dashboard.
Approve the uninstall request through the notification that appears.
Alternatively:
- Navigate to Device Settings in the app or Protection Settings in the web dashboard.
- Locate the Removal Prevention section and toggle the switch to the grey "off" position.
Step 4: Finalize the Uninstall
- Return to the protected computer and click the Canopy icon again.
- Select Uninstall once more.
- Canopy Shield will now automatically uninstall itself from the computer.
Important Note
Uninstalling Canopy Shield from your device does not cancel your Canopy account. Ensure you manage your subscription settings if needed.
