If you have an active Accountability Partner (Ally), you can request to remove them at any time.
The removal is not immediate, your Ally must confirm the request before the change takes effect.
When to Cancel an Ally
Your Ally is not responding to approval requests.
You need urgent changes to your filter settings.
You simply want to switch to another Ally.
⚠️ Important: Canopy Support cannot override or replace your Ally. Only you can request to remove them from your account.
How to Cancel Your Ally
1. Initiate the Removal Request
You can start the removal process from either:
The web Dashboard
Canopy Shield App
Tap the Ally button.
Your account will now indicate a request to cancel ally was sent.
2. Ally Receives a Removal Request
Your Ally receives the request through email.
The email includes:
Your removal request
A link to respond
After tapping the link they will have Two response options: Approve removal or Keep partnership
3. Ally Responds to the Request
If the Ally Approves the Removal
The Ally is instantly removed from your account.
You immediately receive a confirmation notification.
You are now without an Accountability Partner, and you can send a new invite at any time.
If the Ally Keeps the partnership
The Ally remains active as your Accountability Partner.
You receive a notification informing you that your request was denied.
Once removed:
You’ll regain full control of your filtering settings.
Canopy Support can assist you like any regular customer.
You can re-add an Ally at any time by sending a new invite.
Good to Know
The removal is not automatic — it requires the Ally’s action.
Removing your Ally does not affect your subscription.
You are free to cancel or reactivate the Ally feature whenever you wish.
Choosing the right Ally is important — pick someone you trust and who can respond reliably.
If the Ally does not respond to your request, please contact support for further assistance.
If you want to add a new Ally later, just go back to your Dashboard or app and send another invite.
